Axed Apprentice star denies "sexism" allegations; to promote UK-Pakistan trade

Apprentice star Zeeshaan Shah has denied allegations of sexism levelled against him by fellow contestants.

Shah was booted off the show after his team lost their latest task in Dubai with Lord Sugar lambasting Shah for being a "know-it-all".

Soon after, team members Natalie Panayi and Leah Totton accused the British-Pakistani property investor of "having a problem working with women".

Shah said afterwards: "These are baseless allegations, I don't know where Natalie pulled it out from.

It's completely below the belt and something I'm really not happy about. If you want to lie through your teeth then do it but do it with some respect.

"There were certain parts of the boardroom that were not shown because I don't think they could have been shown. There were certain things she said - you heard me say to her 'can you mind your language' and it wasn't because she called me a male chauvinist."

The team's task was to source eight items for the lowest price possible for a new luxury hotel, but despite being led by Shah who used to live in Dubai, the team lost having sourced only three items correctly.

Despite his axing, Shah remained confident following his foray into national TV.

"The name Zeeshaan will go down in history. I'm not sure how exactly, why as yet, but it will", he said after leaving the boardroom.

In the meantime, Karachi-born Shah is said to be working towards promoting a new body promoting trade between the UK and his native Pakistan, saying "It's very important to dedicate yourself to a cause bigger than yourself."

Last year, Shah led a delegation to Pakistan along with Sir Thomas Harris, Vice Chairman of Standard Chartered Capital Markets.

Shah and his team are currently in the process of launching the Pakistan Trade and Investment Corporation (PTIC), modelled on the UK's Trade and Investment Forum and aimed at promoting investment in Pakistan.
