An Indian-origin British expat has been charged with murder for beating a suspected German paedophile to death in Spain after he caught the man filming his young daughter on an iPad.
The incident reportedly occurred at a restaurant in Sotogrande, an exclusive resort in southern Spain.
Reports say that Devinder Kainth, a local estate agent and trained boxer, had been enjoying a family meal with his wife and three children at the resort's Spinnaker restaurant on Saturday night when he noticed a fellow patron - locally named as 43-year-old German tourist Sandro Rottman - filming his youngest daughter.
Rottman is said to have continued to film despite repeated requests from 40-year-old Kainth to stop.
Mr Kainth is said to have grabbed the tablet from Rottman only to discover several pictures of his daughter. He had then thrown it on the floor before landing several blows on Rottman's head.
Rottman was rushed to a local hospital but succumbed to his injuries. It later emerged that Rottman had been arrested days earlier for possessing child pornography.
A police spokesman said: "The incident happened because of a video the victim had been recording of the British man's daughter. He snatched the tablet he was using and when he discovered there were images of his daughter on it, threw it to the ground and assaulted him."
Mr Kainth appeared before a magistrate soon after and was remanded in custody.
The owner of the Spinnaker restaurant told reporters that "everything happened very quickly" after Mr Kainth became enraged at Rottman filming his daughter, who is said to be under the age of eight.
A witness told the Daily Mail that Rottman had a "bad reputation" in the area and had been barred from various bars and restaurants.
Police have confirmed that Rottman was awaiting trial after being arrested on child pornography charges in January.BLOG COMMENTS POWERED BY DISQUS
